The Upper Midwest Section is thrilled to welcome Dr. Kimberly Anderson, Assistant Professor at UMN Industrial Hygiene Program.
Dr. Anderson's research is focused primarily in two areas: inhalable sampler development and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). CFD is used to model air and contaminant dispersion in different workplaces, design and evaluate engineering controls, and assess IAQ.
Dr. Anderson will present on topics of evaluation of local exhaust ventilation in nail salons, including a discussion of new ventilation regulations for nail salons and performance of three commercially available systems, including why more guidance and information is necessary before states implement policies for ventilation.
